Retro Optics Galore; the Aimpoint 2000 (AG2000)

The Aimpoint 2000 is a collimator LED red dot sight that was released by Aimpoint in 1985/1986. Though the 2000 had a relatively short production run, ending in 1989, it has had a lasting impact til this day.

The 2000 uses the standard 1" inch (25.4mm) scope rings for mounting onto a firearm. Featuring a unique battery compartment that hangs off the optic, rather than being parallel to the optic body. Unique to the 2000 is the light photoreceptor on the front of the battery compartment. This automatically adjusts the brightness of the optic. Since the photoreceptor is integral to the optic, there is no "manual" brightness setting, but the dot gets decently bright enough for daytime use.

This AG2000 Retro red dot sight by Angry Gun is a high-quality, near 1:1 replica of the aforementioned Aimpoint 2000 collimator red dot optic with a few upgrades; the body is CNC-machined using high-grade 6061 T6 aluminum, and topped off with a durable hardcoat anodized finish, making it extremely robust and durable while maintaining an extremely lightweight profile. Like the real Aimpoint 2000, it also comes with a fully operational light photoreceptor unit that automatically adjusts the brightness of the dot based on ambient light and gets plenty bright while outdoors, but Angry Gun has added a manual adjustment setting for those who want the dot at a constant brightness. The red dot also comes with a pair of 1-inch (25.4mm) scope rings that allow the optic to be mounted via Picatinny (1913) rails. The AG2000 is also powered by a single CR123A 3V Lithium battery cell (Do not go above 3V or it could short out the circuitry).
